Facebook Messenger And Auto Responses Guide

Introduction

When clients reach out on Facebook Messenger, they expect a quick response. Using automation can streamline this process. Meta Business suite offers a variety of options for automation. However, you still want to check your inbox regularly to catch conversations that your automations can’t, follow up with leads, and ensure that potential clients are getting the information they need.

Get Started

Look through your inbox to get a feel for the common questions you are asked

Here are some ideas for suggested questions:

  • Can I book a showing?

    • You will be able to see which listing they are looking at when the request is sent so that you can send the lead to the appropriate agent.

  • How much is my home worth?

    • This can link to a home value calculator or a link to book an appraisal

  • Can I get more information about affordable condos, land, or whatever are popular searches in your area

    • Answer this with a link to a custom page on your website

Using Keywords

Custom Keywords offer you the ability to answer common questions and provide resources to clients quickly. Keywords such as listing, price, open house, neighborhood name, or property type could be used. Your inbox will be the place to start to determine what kinds of questions and answers you want to set up. Once you have your keywords, you can choose where you want these questions to link. You may have existing pages, or these may be ideas for custom landing pages you want to build.

How to Set up Suggested Questions

Step 1

Go to business.facebook.com and log in with your Facebook account

Step 2

Click on “Inbox”

Step 3

Click on “Automations” in the top-right corner

Frequently Asked Questions

Suggest questions people can ask your Page. Then set up automated responses to those questions.

Set up Your Questions

Select “Frequently Asked Questions” from the left menu

  1. Select the “Add a Question” button. Enter the text you want for the suggested question and answer.

  2. When you have added all of your questions and answers, you can click “Save Changes”

  3. Your questions will now show up when a client starts a messenger conversation with you

Custom Keywords

Send automated responses when messages contain specific keywords. For example, when you receive a message that includes the word “sale,” send an automated response with information about your latest sale.

Set Up Your Keywords

  1. Add up to 5 keywords that will trigger your response. For example, a keyword set could be - showing, viewing, open house, details

  3. Click “Save”

  4. Review your keyword responses by seeing how clients interact with them in messenger.
